Our values and our means

  • Bioport, under the law of 1901, is a non-profit organisation
  • Bioport draws on a large network of forwarding agents and hauliers that we put into competition in order to get the best service at the best price
  • Since our creation in 1994, we have acquired real experience in international transport for international solidarity organisations
Bioport has a strong understanding of what is required for humanitarian projects with organising shipments, particular constraints, dealing with local authorities for customs clearance processes including tax exemptions, and the different destinations.
The Bioport workforce makes it possible to increase the capacity of the Solidarités International team when required for dispatch.

In 2020, the sudden halt in commercial air travel had a strong impact on the ability of international NGOs to move equipment necessary for humanitarian activities in a range of situations. Bioport quickly demonstrated its capacity to act as intermediary for NGOs, identifying opportunities and constraints for organising our transport.
Organised by the French government and NGOs, a humanitarian air bridge was set up between April and September 2020. The operational team of the Humanitarian Logistics Network, which I supervised, coordinated the NGOs. Naturally, we included Bioport as a premium partner in our operations, with their detailed knowledge of airport constraints and their familiarity with NGOs.

Le Group has been working with Bioport for over 15 years. Bioport was a key player at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The operations team is very friendly. Bioport also showed incredible responsiveness and agility for bringing complex products into France when no other logistics provider nor the government were able to. We also had difficulties establishing an administrative and financial model. Bioport agreed to take over, giving assistance beyond logistics. We applaud how Bioport rapidly provided import services when they are usually known for their missions on the international export side.
Frédéric Meunier
Director of the Le Group association (mutualised consultants for the solidarity sector)
Action Contre la Faim has been working with Bioport for over 14 years now on the pre-positioning of emergency response kits and their delivery in humanitarian operation zones. Experiences have demonstrated the value and performance of our synergy.

Bioport has been supporting us in the management of our international transport for 27 years. This operational partnership gives us the expertise needed to be able to meet the logistical challenges of our intervention programmes.
